Was honored to document Amanda’s baby shower. She was shining and the decor was so pretty! Will be shooting her maternity photos today – stayed tuned! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this collage of Amanda and the decorations and presents from the party. Oh, and did I mention that the cake was to die for? Raspberry filled cake with buttercream frosting! Yum!

Christmas is just 5 days away and I think I have done about as much decorating as I am going to do this year! I still have boxes not yet emptied, but I think they will remain that way. After so many years, the collection is just so large and some things are no longer to my taste.
The first of two collages I put together of some of the Christmas decor around the house.
This is the second collage of Christmas decor. Some of it is everyday decor, but I just thought it went well in the collage.

Yesterday was my stepmother’s birthday. We celebrated by having dinner and cake at my house. I cooked grilled shrimp on skewers (well, ok, I prepared it and my husband actually did the grilling – I don’t do grills) on a bed of yellow rice, salad, Italian bread with olive oil dipping sauce. For dessert – CHOCOLATE CAKE! (I love Bill Cosby) and Blue Belle vanilla and pineapple ice cream. I didn’t make the cake or ice cream 
Took a few photos, but unfortunately none of the food as I was too busy preparing it to think about photographing it.

Bonny makes children’s clothing, crocheted baby blankets and hats, and tutus. She also does custom orders – she made my granddaughter’s candy corn Halloween costume:

Today I am trying my hand at product photography by photographing her items for her Facebook business page. It will be a challenge for me because I don’t have any models to work with, so I have to come up with a way to best present the articles using only props and backgrounds without it being too busy so that the focus is on the product. I don’t have a link to her Facebook page yet, because, well, there isn’t anything on there yet. That’s my job – so I’d better get busy at it! I will post the link once I get some photos for her to work with!

There is a current trend with portrait photographers that I really love. I try not to get caught up in trends, but I find myself drawn to this one – it evokes a sense of magic and wonder.

My mother and sister and I take a 3 day getaway trip every year, sometimes in October and sometimes in February. We have gone to Gulf Shores, AL for the past few years, but decided on Biloxi, MS this year and just happened to be there during Cruising the Coast! We didn’t realize until after the reservations were made that it was Cruisin week, so I was amazed that we got such a good deal on our room!
The first morning we decided to drive to Mickey D’s for breakfast and do some exploring and discovered that we were just a block away from the cars, so we remained parked where we were and walked over to the show, which encompassed the whole downtown area of Biloxi. So many cool cars to see – I was a happy snapper!
Some of the vehicles seemed all dressed up for Halloween. There was this Cobra with it’s lovely passenger! My mom snapped a shot of me with her – maybe this is me in the afterlife – hahahaha!
Another interesting Halloweeny vehicle was the old hearse – very detailed and cute! Notice the progression of IV material in the back

Another thing the show had was entertainment! The theme this year was Sweet 16, so the music was 50′s style. We saw Elvis and a fun group in front of the courthouse
This cute group of kids was dancing and performing near Hwy 90 in front of the casino – I believe they were from Biloxi High School.
Saw them walking in the crowd later and they posed for this group shot for me – I just love teenagers – they love to be in pictures!
It was a big crowd and a little on the steamy side as far as the weather went but we had a blast and even got the t-shirts to prove it! Here is a photo of my sister with her t-shirt

It is always a pleasure to photograph Whitney. In June we did her summer senior photos, and last week her fall session.
For such a pretty and photogenic girl, she starts out a little nervous and fidgety before the camera, but with only a little direction, look what I get!
Whitney is my Senior Rep from Moss Point High School in Moss Point, MS. We started out there
And then moved to the church across the street where they had a wonderful set of stairs leading up to the front entrance. It was Sunday and almost time for church to begin, so we had to work quick. We got a smile from a lady entering the church for service.
It was getting busy around there, so we decided to move on and ended up at Pelican Landing, a sort of convention type place on the river in Escatawpa. The views there are amazing, but it was so bright outside I was unable to capture much of the detail of the scenery behind her.
We had a fun morning! I leave you with my favorite from the day – what a lovely young woman Whitney is and such a joy to photograph!

I recently purchased a product tent from Cowboy Studio in the hopes of maybe doing some product photography in the future and was able to capture this while practicing. I put the tent up in my workroom on a table in between two windows (to the left and behind) and put my softbox right up next to the tent. Stuck a candle inside and put the black liner in over the candle, put the rose on top and this is the result! I think I’m going to like this.
